Therapists In Orlando
Finding the right Therapists In Orlando can seem like a daunting task. There are so many to choose from. Each promise to help you with your life stress and bring health and peace into your life. Not all therapists counsel the same way. In fact my style is extremely different. Yes I went to school just like everyone else but after several years in the field of mental health counseling, I have formed a unique approach that is to the point and can bring about immediate change.

My Principle Ideas
The following list are what I know to be true after 16 years of counseling. I see these patterns repeat so often. I felt it would be beneficial to write a blog for others to see.
A person must be motivated for real change to happen
If your coming into therapy because your partner, spouse or a family member is forcing you too, then you will not be willing to do the work. You need to be on board to make major life shifts.
Don’t come in defensive
When you are defensive you are blocking the ability to hear anything useful. That is your ego coming out and trying to defend you. There is no need for ego in therapy. My intention is to just show you areas or blind spots that you have been unaware of.
Be willing to take accountability
Try not to come into therapy with the attitude that all of your problems are the making of someone else. We tend to only be accountable for the things that are going on well in our lives and not those things going wrong.
The therapist is there to help
Many feel attacked when the therapist is just simply probing and trying to gather information so they can help understand the full picture.
Lead with honesty
If your going to do the work then you might as well be honest and not hold back helpful information. I can understand that an individual may feel awkward talking to a complete stranger. Just say that out loud and get it off your chest.
Therapists In Orlando
As bad as it may sound I often wonder if much work is being done with other therapists in Orlando. When many come to me they are daunted and defensive. They are stating they have been to therapy before only to leave feeling judged and shamed. I see this a lot with Christian Counselors. I personally want to apologize on behalf of the therapists in Orlando that are watered down. There are many of us (not the majority) that are giving it 100%. They are committed to the highest ethics and standard for your well-being.
Commit yourself 100% to the process of a good therapists and you will see your life change right in front of your eyes. You will grow and expand finding real peace and happiness.
