Orlando Therapist
Orlando Therapist and where do you start to even look for the right therapist that is ethical and has your best interest at heart? Do you jump online and just try out your luck hoping to find one that fits your personality?
I see so many clients frustrated with past therapists. They make comments that the therapists was telling them if they should or should not stay in their relationship. These counselors were making moral and biased statements that quite frankly is none of their business. A counselors job is help navigate along side of you and to bring into awareness those things that are outside of your vision. We are not the authority.

What to Watch Out For
I have compiled a list of 15 items to look out for when searching for an ethical and honest therapist.
- Watch out for the ones that are opinionated. They have a strong agenda they want to see gets done.
- Any therapist that goes off track and does not stay on pace with what you came into do work on. They seem to have their own goal for you.
- Is your therapist completely invested in what is truly best for you? Do they offer up little to no suggestion or help?
- The Counselor lacks training to directly address the issues you have.
- Your therapist is not the slightest bit interested in changes you are there to make.
- The therapist cannot and does not define clearly how they plan to help you solve those issues you need assistance with.
- The therapist is unable to give you a clear explanation as to when therapy will be completed.
- Therapist often have not done their own work on a particular issue so they are not equipped to help you with the similar issue.
- Your given guarantees and promises by the counselor.
- Did the counselor provide you with the HIPPA information that explains your right, confidentiality, fees and cancellation policies?
- Do you feel judged and criticized? Do you feel looked down on or inferior?
- Messages are sent by the therapist that you should be blaming your family, co-workers, friends. Anyone but yourself.
- Did the therapist initiate touch without your consent?
- The therapist non stop is talking excessively about his or her own personal issues.
- Is sensitive information about another client shared with you?
