I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Clinical Hypnotherapist. I earned my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from South University in 2010. I have been working in the field for 20+ years, and during this time, I have worked in addiction and mental health helping individuals with a variety of issues: addiction, codependency, family systems, depression, anxiety, shame and guilt to name a few. I also have experience and a passion for working grief and loss issues.
I believe that grief can appear with the experience of any type of loss. A range of emotions can occur. Having someone to talk to, process through, and help in the healing journey is significant. This helps with understanding the process, learning healthy expression of emotions, and coping to move forward on one’s life journey. One can learn how to work through it, adjust to it, and finally accept it, so that the person can move forward with life while continuing to acknowledge and connect with the loss.
I utilize an eclectic approach to help improve your quality of life and to obtain the skills needed to accomplish your objectives. Interventions that may be used are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, ACT, Experiential Therapy, and Hypnotherapy in treating issues related to Grief and Loss, Trauma and Abuse, Depression, Anxiety, and Addictions/Substance Abuse.
Awareness is the first step toward creating a positive change in one’s life and helping people to heal. By beginning an inner journey of self-exploration, we can create this change together. The well-being of my clients and providing a safe, comfortable environment are of vital importance. Collaboratively, we will work to develop a therapeutic relationship based on mutual trust, honesty, and respect; to accomplish your goals; and to make a positive change in your life.
I know it is not always easy to take the first steps in asking for help. If you are ready to move forward, I am here to help and support you. I look forward to working with you!
