Where Does It Come From?
Anxiety is much like the fight, freeze and flight response that is an internal survival response allowing people to spot oncoming danger and protect themselves. The problem occurs when someone repeatedly and for unnecessary reason experiences extremely high peaks of fear and worry. Their body stays in this fight, flight and/or freezer response constantly.
Determinants for anxiety stem form biology and the environment. They are conditioned into us at a young age. The natural state of a person is not anxiety. We learn to become scared of irrational thoughts and ideas that others tell us. We believe them as our “truths”. If you grew up in a very hostile and stressful home, you are predisposed to anxiety. It was a normal state of being and responding to as a child.

Seek Help
Due to the fact that anxiety interferes with self, relationships, work, sleep, hobbies, etc, it has become and will be the number one reason most seek therapy. Effective and direct therapy can help to eliminate anxiety. Together we will go in and pin point what messages you are telling yourself or the false story your making up about life. When you realize how your mind is creating the anxiety you gain awareness. After a few sessions you will be fully aware of those things that set off anxiety.
Most often the technique used with eliminating anxiety is cognitive behavioral therapy. This is tracking how your thoughts affect your mood and your overall response or behavior. CBT and Narrative therapy are great to use in conjunction with one another. Don’t sit and suffer any longer. Get the help you need.
